The full grand loop timed to the July polo festival at Shandur — Hunza, the Ghizer lakes, three nights of camping at 3,700 m, then Chitral and the Kalash valleys.
Itinerary
- Day 1–2
Islamabad → Gilgit
Flight or the Karakoram Highway along the Indus.
- Day 3–5
Hunza & Gojal
Karimabad, Attabad, Passu Cones and Khunjerab Pass.
- Day 6–7
Ghizer
Gupis, Khalti and Phander lakes along the Gilgit river.
- Day 8–10
Shandur
Camp at 3,700 m for the Gilgit–Chitral polo final and the festival nights.
- Day 11–12
Chitral & Kalash
Down to Chitral, then Bumburet in the Kalash valleys.
- Day 13–14
Return
Lowari tunnel and Dir south to Islamabad.
